Two-thousand and eleven was a long year…

Two-thousand and eleven was a long year. I have been fortunate enough to be honored with two solo Museum Exhibitions that have dominated much of my energy and focus. A southern Perspective: Paintings by West Fraser at the Spartanburg Art Museum in Spartanburg, South Carolina closed in June and new paintings and logistics for the exhibition and publication are finally completed for my show in Savannah, Ga. A Native Son: paintings by West Fraser at the Telfair Museums old Academy Building, starting 24 February. This is the first Museum I visited as a child and my first exposure to what I consider great American Paintings by Childe Hassam, Robert Henri, George Bellows, George Luks and Gari Melchers, whom assembled the works for the Telfair. Savannah has a proud tradition in Southern history and Art and I am proud to be participating in that continuum.

I feel like I have come up for air and can move on to new projects and open my spirit to new inspirations. In my pursuit for new inspirations I completed a few pieces for my Savannah Show. The Exhibition starts 24 February and ends 6 May 2012- There will be a full color Exhibition catalogue available by the opening date- inquire with Helena Fox Fine Art at 1-843-723-0073 or info@helenafoxfineart.com.
