Inland of St. Catherine’s Island, on Colonel’s Island, is the Yellow Bluff Fishing Camp established in 1923. The island was first settled by English and carried the name Bermuda Island. The cedar hammock to the left in the painting was formed by the oyster shell spoils at the end of an oyster house pier that once stood along the shore.
